Most days Sheila can be found sewing her drawstring makeup and jewellery bags in the kitchen of her Sale home. She grew up with a dressmaker mum and has always enjoyed making and crafting.
A regular market trader, and now occasional exhibitor too since starting to make textile art, she was thrilled to be asked to be one of three textile artists to exhibit at The Great Northern Textile Show last October.
It was seeing the potential in the bags of left over fabric, especially colourful satins and taffeta, that inspired her to create dreamy imagined landscapes with layered scraps and hand stitching.
